knowing that each roaster has different needs, in general, is the 5 grand extra worth it? (FYI-i'm looking at the YM-10) thanks

I have had our roaster in our cafe for five months now and am very happy with our ym-5 with the profile system and autodoor.

As a cafe owner, I never seem to have enough time.

Having the ability to click a few times, hit start, wait a minute or two, open the hopper door, and then walk away to do other things is PRICELESS!

If time is money or you want repeatability (tomorrow or next year) then the profile system will be a great investment.

On the other hand, if you have time to spare and want to save the money, then it may not be worth it for you.

A profile system does not mean that you can not roast manually; actually you should take the controls every now and then. I have had to take over a few times because of of power outage and such. ( I use battery back-up now)

The profile system has allowed me to learn the basics of roasting by watching the curve and changes of the bean.

I am totally happy with my roaster
