Avanti Capri : Pressure relief

I understand that most basic home espresso machines route the excess water/steam from the pressure relief (or three-way) valve down into the drip tray. I am guessing the Avanti Capri I just bought (used) also works this way. I am wondering if it's missing a tube from the valve to the drip tray. Some holes seem to be there for this purpose. Here are some pictures. Thanks!

Yes it looks like the drain tube from the pressure relief/three-way valve to the drip tray is missing or disconnected. Those holes are likely meant for that tube. You should add a short silicone hose from the valve outlet down to the drip tray so excess water doesn’t collect inside the machine.
