European Coffee Shops and Franchises

I am looking to open a coffee shop in Spain.

I was thinking of going independent at first. but I have been looking at a couple of coffee franchises from well established brand names.

One if Il Caffe di Roma and is owned by Lavazza. The other is Segafredo.

Of course these two are well known names in the coffee world.

Has anybody had any experience with either one of them?

There don't seem to be too many posters here interested in the european market, but I thought I would ask anyway.

I was browsing this site because I''m very interested in starting my own coffee shop. I worked at one all through college. While I am currently a copywriter at an advertising agency, I find myself unfulfilled. I miss everything about a coffee shop. To make a long story short, I saw your post and was wondering how serious you were about opening a shop in Spain and if you would like an employees from America??????

I know both companies well. I had shops in Israel and they were my competition. (Not sbux, they bailed and lost their shirt. Sbux had their''s handed to them.)
I my opinion Both Lavazza and Segafreddo are good coffees and well
known in Europa. So that being said, go with who ever is going to give you the best deal. They usaually include a grinder and a 2 group La Spezia
espresso machine. (though they may offer a spanish made machine.)
Be careful don''t sign any contracts with minimum orders.
