What is so special about trying an AeroPress? All it does is makes filtered French Press coffee. Both types are immersion makers. I have both, an AeroPress and a French Press, the French Press makes a heartier cup of coffee because it leaves the oils instead of filtering the oil out like the AeroPress does. I also have a Hario V60 Switch, also an immersion maker if using the switch method, it also has a filter though, I think it does a bet better job of making coffee than the AeroPress does.

I have lots of different ways to make coffee, but I rarely use the AeroPress anymore unless going on an airplane someplace, then I pack the AeroPress because it can't break if tossed about by gorillas in the cargo bay, and if the luggage gets lost, I won't be upset about losing the AeroPress.
