How do I register with the FDA to import coffee from El Salvador?

I'm looking to import coffee from El Salvador and I have pretty much everything done except I dont know where to go to register with the FDA as an importer. Can anyone help? thanks in advance

I spoke to a freight forwarder company who suggested both exporter and importer should register. I have combed the FDA website to find out where to register but came up empty. I could have been given wrong information but it does not hurt to cover all my bases. are you an exporter/importer?

You need to register for an account with the FDA. Once you have an account you need to register a food facility. Pretty basic information and doesn't take to long. It's free of charge and I recommend you do it online.
