how to use coffee percolator?

i have a hamilton beach 60 cup coffee percolator and i cant remember how to use it, and cant find the isntructions.. :?

if i remember, i fill the device up with water, then i add the ground coffee to the metal container. cover it with the top, then turn the other top to lock it in, plug it in and viola. does that sound right?

then the next question i have is...for 60 cups of coffee, how much should i put into the holding container? and do they make filters for these? i dont remember use filter before.

I'd contact the manufacturer in this case. Some people swear by percolators, but personally I'd toss the thing and go another route. It might make large batches, but it's going to be far from tasty based on the operating principles of percolators.

You using it for some type of function?

Generally 2 tablespoons coasely ground per serving size cup (6 oz.?) of water. Everything else you referenced sounds spot on regarding operation.
