Just a little question.

I''m new to the whole wide world of coffee, so forgive my ignorance.

A friend of mine sent some ground espresso to me, but I don''t have an espresso machine. Can I just stick it in a regular ol'' coffee pot? I know that''s now the intended way, and if I had tons of money I''d love to head out and buy a fancy espresso machine, but that''s just not in the cards right now. Thanks in advance!

you can buy nice little stove top espresso brewers for very few $s. I haven't used mine in a long time, but i think they do a decent cup.....

only thing about putting that in a drip maker it might be too fine to use. If it is ground for espresso the water will not pass through the grounds quick enough and then will over flow your machine.

espresso myth

A lot of people confuse espresso coffee as coffee ground for espresso.
Let me explain...
Espresso is a type of coffee bean AND is how ANY coffee can be ground.
Espresso can be brewed many different ways, depending on how it is ground.
And any coffee can be ground and brewed for ESPRESSO (although some definitely taste better than others, like your darker roasts).

In short, Espresso is a type of bean (much like Sumatra),
AND
...is a type of Grind (very fine).
Hope this is helpful
