Hi Everyone,

This article came out yesterday.

"Starbucks Pike Place Blend coffee was unanimously deemed the best hot coffee -- better than McDonald's, Dunkin' Donuts and 7-Eleven."

I hope you know that coffee in Uk McDonalds tastes absolutely awful.

I don't know how it is south of the 49th parallel, but up here many coffee shops extract a whopping 80 cups of coffee out of a pound of beans. That is 0.2 ounces or 5.7 grams of coffee.

I believe the suggested standard is 50 cups or 9.1 grams of coffee per cup.
If you subscribe to the 0.4 ounces thing, that is 11.4 grams or 40 cups per pound.

I was visiting with a coffee vending operator, and even they use 13 grams of coffee per cup or 35 cups per pound.

I guess that explains why coffee tastes like crap in alot of shops up here.

Wow, that is a surprising outcome yet it pretty interesting
