heres the problem my Cuisinart DCC-1200 makes every cup of coffee really bitter and I notice that it keeps spitting out coffee grinds in the pot. Heres the problem....its doing this even when I try just filtering water through with any coffee. So far pver the last 2 days I have been just using it with water to try and clean it out and it still keeps spitting out coffee. I have made 8 pots far.

This thing might be broke for good because one day I messed up and didn't put the lip on the pot when making coffee and it caused the coffee to not drip at all and back up at the top....now im thinking the coffee actually leaked into the water reservoir

I have know other ideas how to fix this

If your machine is past the warranty period or you cannot get them to fix it I would suggest looking at the Capresso line. Its comparable in price but for as little $35 you can send in most of the little coffee brewers and have them refurbished. That is about the only thing that makes the Capresso line stand out.

Otherwise if you don't mind spending a little extra I would highly recommend Technivorm. They are offered at http://www.boydscoffeestore.com/brewing/index.php.
