I recently watched Dr. Rhonda Patrick's video, "How to Brew Coffee for Maximum Anti-Aging Benefits," and I was surprised by her scientific findings. With all the new research emerging about microplastics, we decided to move away from conventional coffee makers and opt for an all-metal espresso machine years ago. That was a significant step up in our coffee quality, until we switched to the pour-over method this week. This method of making coffee had somehow slipped by me my entire adult life, and I was shocked at how simple the process is, and how delicious a cup of coffee it makes! I've been going down rabbit holes learning about techniques, accessories, how to plume, etc. If you haven't tried a pour-over coffee, I highly suggest giving it a try!

I wanted to know if I would like the pour-over method, so I got started as simply as possible. Here's what I've been using with great success so far.

YETI Rambler 14 oz Mug - This is a great on-the-go mug, as it comes with a MagSlider lid and it keeps coffee warm for hours!

YETI Pour Over Coffee Maker for Ramblers - I already had the Yeti Rambler mug, so I decided to go with this accessory because it's all stainless steel and is durable enough for me to travel with.

Aromaster Coffee Bean Grinder - This grinder was the highest-quality option I found, featuring as many stainless steel components as possible without breaking the bank.

COSORI Electric Gooseneck Kettle - This temperature-controlled kettle rocks! It heats up extremely fast, features a precise pour, and offers several temperature control presets.

Viante V60 Coffee Filters - Unbleached, organic bamboo filters that provide a chemical-free brewing experience.

Etekcity Food Scale - Nothing fancy here, just an easy-to-use digital food scale to weigh out dosing.

I'm sure I'll get a fancy Orea pour-over setup for my everyday home use, but until then, the Yeti setup works great for both home and away.

Nice setup, I too am a pour over fan, though I do not usually brew this way for time's same (except at work :ROFLMAO:)

What are your specs/grind, temp, ratio, preferred roast, etc? Do you add anything to your black coffee? I've always just eyeballed it and taste checked it. Add water if too strong.
I'll check out the video later as well.

I'm still playing with settings and ratios, but I currently have my grinder set 24 (which is halfway in the grind range), Kion dark roast coffee beans, 17g of grinds, with about a 30g water plume for 30 seconds, and then continue to filter the rest for a total of about 12 oz. I will add a bit of local honey and some half-and-half to top it off.
