I was wondering what people are charging for 8 and 12 oz coffee. I had someone ask me because they are adding coffee to their menu. It has been almost 4 years since I worked directly with a shop..and really do not want to use that one as a reference. It was a casino..so you can figure what we charged was not the norm. I am trying to convince them to going with 12 and 16 oz so they do not need to carry 2 different sized lids..any input would be greatly appreciated!

coffee prices

Here our my prices:

12 - $1.25
16-$1.50
20 - $1.75
24 - $2.25

Yes - a 24 ounce coffee - this size we only sell at our hospital location - healthcare workers love this size cuz they can drink it all day long - they don't often have time to come back for another cup.

don't know if this make sense. One of the thing I factored in when I do pricing is try to figure out coins customers get back. What I have observed is that many times customers just put the coins in the tip jar. So 8oz customers actually tip more than 12oz coffee customers. Nothing make employees happier than a full tip jar at the end of their shift.

I am actually working on my menu and pricing. I feel like my eyes are crossing! I was leaning towards doing 8/12/16 oz. I know some people are used to the giant sized coffee, and while I am not a fan of that, I don't want my customers to feel ripped off. How did you overcome that? Or do you offer the large size?

Absolute bargain basement prices compared to the "rip off" in the UK. Really the high street coffee shops just seem to want to get an intravenous line into our wallets.....

  • Size in oz and equivelant UK price
    8 - $3.60
    12 - $5.00
16- just for americans and mabye a UK Mac Donalds (where it's not worth drinking)
    20 - Just for americans
24 - Probably just for Texas and Texans (no offence meant)?

  • Bahahaha! (Hey, I'm from New Joisey, we're obnoxious without the 24 ounce vat of coffee.)

With the exchange rate the way it is, its not a good time for a US citizen to travel. Ouch!
