Hi,
This is my first post, as I just registrered  Yesterday my parents gave me their old Rancilio Silvia. It's an oldy and hasn't been used for quite a while. I cleaned the elements before giving it a first try, to see if it still works.
After filling the water I let it heat up and switched it on. At first a little water was coming out and then it stopped. For some reason it wasn't working anymore.
I decided to open the Silvia up to take a look at the boiler and it doesn't look good
It has white powder on it and green calcic (I'm Dutch and I don't know if this is the correct word :-o). I guess it's dead, but I would really appreciate your opinion.

As guess this happens when you don't really maintain your machine? :S (I know my parents never did a proper cleaning)
Many thanks,
Daniel
