Unsure about used roasters, but you can buy Probat, Diedrich, Has Garanti, Toper and a few more through local distributors.

I give you some of the distributors contact info but don''t want to post as I am not familiar with the forum rules here. Email me at viphop at rocketmail dott com if you want to know.

I am not selling any roaster or affiliated to any distributor, just looking to purchase a roaster of similar capacity to you in Bangkok.

Oh... You should stop by at the \"Thailand Coffee, Tea & Drinks\" in The Mall Bangkapi from Feb 21 till 24. You should be able to find some roasters for sale there.

To Alex 66:
I''m new on this forum,.. I live in Thailand building roaster machines
Are you living in Bangkok? Well.. what is your target, I mean how many kg per week you want produce for your business?. I tell you in advance I have nothing very small like 2 or 5 Kg/Batch but if you are plan something for the future I have 15kg/batch which means 60 kg/hour.
One is under construction (manual operation) and another is automatic complete and in operation but I need it right now for my experiment and small production.
The machine is very compact a new design and all necesary things, Gas Burner (LPG) very easy to find in this area. If you want take a look I''m stay in Khorat which is 2 hour by car from BKK or I can send you some detail. It''s very intresting and very low price compared with other manufacturer. Designed in Italy for asia market by italian specialist in this field and entirely build here in thai under my supervision. Soon it will be on market but I dont want to say much more now.
Any way I''m really surprise how many request of smaller equipments there are every where not only in this forum I need to think about and may be start to draw a new small roaster too.
Ok feel free to ask if you need something.

If you are not already planning on going, I would recommend a visit to the FHA next week in Singapore. Several of the big roasting cncerns normally display machines there- as well as all the other suppliers you may need to set up a roastery and/or cafe. It runs 22nd-25th April at the Expo Halls out near the airport.

Hi, yes your right, they are not located in Laos I dont know they stock only in St. Pauls, I think alex66 may ask them.
I'm not dealing in this stuff honeslty I keep distance from most of this home appliance or toy roaster. Drum roaster ...mmmh.. totally agree with you.
good luck alex

Hey Sainak, dont worry about it, easy enough mistake to make I reckon. BTW I am sure there is an interesting story behind how an Italian coffee machine engineer has ended up in Thailand (like how a NZ coffee roster ended up in Indonesia). What part of Italy are you originally from? How different is it to living and working in Thailand? Cheers, Alun

I'm from the city of Bologna -Italy- the land of lasagna, tortellini, and spaghetti alla bolognese ...ha ha ha
Not only that, Bologna is an important pole of industries for all kind of machinery, packing, roasting, sigarette, paper, food and many other stuff.
I was working many year as programmer and customer service and I travell a lot around the planet.
Sick of the european life style which bring to me a lot of stress and health problems, i decide to seattle in thailand, completly different and with some oppurtunity to begin a new life, also in the middle of an area of intrest for coffee.
Thailand i very diffent from our concept of standard but not so hard to find technology, work shops, tools, materials, resonable man power cost and enough skilled for most of the jobs I need to do
In other country in this area this is not possible.
The mentality of local people and life style not easy to understand and first step was to make clear I'm european and I will not be a thai, and thai's will not be as an european. So, fix some distance or limit that you not able to across but not so strictly to live with them.
Choosing the place was pretty hard but i did the right thing: stay away from turist area full of 24 hours drunken people, desperate from all countries and go go girls. I'm living in northeast province Nakhonratchasima city (second biggest province after Bankok) and life here much more close to my requirement, most important not turist around, those foreigner I can see in this area are married people and living with their family with same purpose of mine.
Before take this decision, my uncle and other friend of mine, retired from their previous business, came to me with some idea's (they previously work in roaster machine company) to develop a project for a new machine , very ambitious project so we start work together in italy for almost 6 month then I move here and in the last 4 years we built 3 different machines one was sold and in production the other 2 still here for demonstration and test with different kind of burner and different kind of material. The 15Kg is already at the end the 30Kg already built with some final adjustment and few things about look design to complete.
Next one is a 60KG already draw - and a double drum machine for batch of 30kg every 7-8 minute under development.
I keep myself busy.

Very interesting tale indeed! I too am a European, (well...a white New Zealander- Pakeha we call it where I am from). I too made my way to Southeast Asia looking at doing something different, looking to work with Relationship Coffee in Indonesia. 10 years later I am still here, still enjoying the variety of life. MArried, well settled with young son. I often go home to NZ, where things stay pretty much constant- like nothing really changes. In Indonesia life can change hourly. 10 years ago my life was as follows- riots-bombings-riots-beheadings-more bombings-earthquakes-Volcanic erruptions-more quakes-Tsunamis-bombings-political unrest- SARS-more quakes-more volcanic eruptions- another couple of quakes-bombings and Tsunamis. However things of late have been very settled, almost spookily so  You are quite right in saying that we will never become Thais/Indonesians etc and vice versa. I think that as visitors to these countries realising this fact, and the fact we can learn so much without trying to chage the world is key.

I visit Italy fairly regularly, and have been to Bologna (the red city - rooves and politics!) and really enjoyed the city and the cuisine. I love visiting the country and really would quite enjoy trying to spend more time there. We are the country reps for CMA (San Marino, Astoria machines) so I visit Susegana in Treviso and of course other coffee cities in the North (West and East).

I havenot been up to Thailand since 2000, which is a pity because its only 2 hours from Jakarta. I will certainly make the effort in the near future as I have a few friends in the Coffee business up there and would be good to catch up.

Anyway great to have you on the forum. A lot of coffee enthusiasts, a number of cafe owners, quite a few roasters but only a sprinkling of experts building roasters. look forward to more of your postings!

Davidsbiscotti has brought up a good point in a P.M top me... just to clarify the posting above........the riots-bombings-riots-beheadings-more bombings-earthquakes-Volcanic erruptions-more quakes-Tsunamis-bombings-political unrest- SARS-more quakes-more volcanic eruptions- another couple of quakes-bombings and Tsunamis surely happened in Indonesia, not New Zealand.

As far as I am aware the only dramas that have happened in N.Z in the last decade have been losing the Americas Cup (sailing), dropping 3 Rugby world Cup opportunities and arguing with the Australians about whether Russell Crowe is really a Kiwi or an Aussie.

Very happy to hear some good comments about Italy.
Yes Bologna it's also know as the red City but this was long ago when people can understand difference between colour's in terms of political point of view. Right now in Italy there are no colour's any more or better say...no difference between red white or black. No matter who's is in charge to govern the country they all the same. People and companies are more and more asphyxiate by taxe's, outrageous scandal from those we believe take care our intrest, low salary, huge number of unemployed people or short terms contract and our reputation in EU even around the world is not so good.
BTW I really love Italy the problem are the italians!! Just kidding.
Thanks for your warm welcome in this forum, I was watching this and other forum sometimes and it's difficult to be part of a forum and post comments if you are in my position. Many will think that I only want discredit or criticize other manufacturer and this is not my intention at all. I like the way most of the people here try to exchange experiences and share some of their knowledge about coffee I'm try to do the same thing when is possible.
Hope the administrator of this forum will not angry about this conversation which as nothing to do with the subject.
Well.. in case you plan to visit the land of smile let me know.
sincerly, sainak
