San Marco SM90 Burr Carrier Removal

I purchased a 1995 vintage SM90 that was perfectly functioning but full of ancient coffee crud. I am doing a deep clean and cannot get the burr carrier off. As far as I know there was only the central bolt (counter threaded) that anchored it down…. I have tried a blow torch, using 3 bolts to screw the carrier off of the floor of the grinder chamber, etc….. please help! How the hell do I get this thing off?

Have you looked at a parts diagram to make sure there isn't a cotter pin or something holding it on?

I looked at the SM90 diagram it looks like the carrier is only held on by ”bolt 17” in the diagram… do I need to separate part “19” (the carrier) from part 21? I am currently trying to disengage part 19 and I guess 21 (I don’t see anything below “19” from part 22/23.
