I was wondering what fellow roasters are using to clean their cooling trays. I have used a warm damp cloth a number of times, but want
to give it a deeper cleaning. Could I use white distilled vinegar diluted with water, then rinse with warm watered damp cloth?
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I have used goof off and simply green without any problems

The Mr. Clean Magic Eraser works wonders for caked on oil-based messes. Then all you need to do is give the cooling tray a good rinse and wipedown and you'll be set.

I use a damp rag, first with a tiny bit of soap and then wipe with damp rag without soap. Dry with clean towel.

+1

I clean my cooling bin every time I am finished roasting for the day. This helps build up over time.

A soft wire brush would be so much easier to use for cleaning the individual holes in the tray than a pointed stick.

Anybody use the "Rollster"? I see the ad in most issues of Roast mag, and am tempted to give it a try. My method is simple green and elbow grease, with a kabob skewer or pipe cleaner to clean each hole individually. Every time, I know there must be a better way.

Amazon has it for $30, and you can get free shipping if you have a $35 order.

It looks like a hairbrush, that's on a roller. You know, some of the round styling brushes have bristles that are different lengths. Maybe you could improvise and use one of those.

You may end up inventing something to use, instead of paying $30 for something that may not work.

It works very well. We were using a stainless steel brush to clean and it had made the task much easier an quicker. It is well worth the money.
