Since we enjoy drinking espresso at work, and had a summer engineering intern, we thought it would be fun to write some blogs on the thermal aspects of espresso and espresso cups. In the first blog, we measure the effect on retaining the coffee temperature of pre-heating a standard ceramic espresso cup. In the second blog, we compare it to a styrofoam cup, and an insulated glass expresso cup. Read the blogs and let us know what else you would like to see analyzed related to coffee. We will follow up with more of the physics after another data based blog. Hope you enjoy. Titles to the blogs are below. Search engines will find them if you are curious.
