Which Beans Should I try to roast first?

I would suggest a good Central or South American coffee. Try a Guatemala Antigua, Nicaraguan,Panama Boquette or a Columbia Supremo. I think you should try a few different beans too, not just one or two and decide you don't like it, because you might find a variety that you really like and is easy to roast to your liking too!

What taste are you looking for?

Ethiopian Harrar med roasted to just into second crack makes for a great french press and the Harrar I've roasted doesn't need to rest. It's blueberry finish is incredible.

Sulawesi Kolossi is another bean I really like. Med roasted it's nutty and sweet.

Yeman Matari med to dark roasted makes for a strong, chocolately, well rounded cup.
