Most all green coffee beans smell like salsa to me. I keep our beans in separate containers but if I was a home roaster I don't think it would really matter.
Hello;
Some of the things I think of logically are scent transfer as well as moisture content. I don't think there is much of a transfer but there might be so why take a chance?

I really can't tell the difference in scent with any of our green beans and I have a pretty good nose. However, I'm pretty sure I could identify most in a blind blind taste once roasted.
Nothing wrong with equalizing the moisture content of the various beans, imo. Especially if one plans on blending before roasting. (I roast before blending, btw.)
Coffee beans have a very faint odor, somewhat like grass or straw. We keep beans in burlap or cotton coffee bags in a straw basket. Have done that for years. Just keep them at room temperature or below and out of sunlight and you'll be fine.
