Drinking coffee right before bed time does not affect your quality of sleep? really?

I just got a coffee news flash on this matter.

US researchers from Florida Atlantic University and Harvard Medical School monitored 785 people for a total of 5,164 days and nights, recording how much caffeine, alcohol and nicotine they consumed.
The team then compared their consumption to results from sleep diaries and wrist sensors which recorded the participants’ sleep duration, sleep efficiency and how quickly they woke up after drifting off.

The study found that while nicotine and alcohol did disrupt sleep — with a pre-bed cigarette taking 42 minutes off total duration of sleep for insomniacs (a person who is regularly unable to sleep) — caffeine seemed to have no effect.

If you ask me, when I drink any types of coffee after 6 pm, i have such a bad night of sleep.
maybe it is just me, but what you guys think of this report?

Researchers will be doing sleep studies that involve coffee - forever and ever, and they'll come up with different results each time.

Drinking coffee right before bedtime is a bad idea anyway - it will have a huge chance of disrupting a person's sleep, because they'll need to get up to go to the bathroom in a couple of hours - and then not be able to fall back to sleep again.

The most obvious effect of the stimulant is that it can make it hard for you to fall asleep. One study also found that caffeine can delay the timing of your body clock and these effects will reduce your total sleep time.

Weird...I can drink coffee all day up to bed time. I have no issues with sleep and always wake up 5 minutes before my alarm goes off.

I guess that is one of huge advantages being a coffee roaster, ha ha ha.

My wife gets mad at me. She will be in a conversation with me and if my head hits the pillow I fall asleep...within seconds. It's weird. Coffee doesn't affect my sleep..other than weird dreams.

Coffee with dessert, after a heavy meal, does not bother me. If I drank a mug of high octane on a nearly empty stomach, close to bedtime, I expect it would.
