Thanks for your interest. We've named it, "Catalyst Coffee Company," as in, 'We want to be a catalyst for change in our community by giving away 100% of profits (mostly to existing nonprofits already doing good work.' Website is catalystcoffeecompany.com (still in 'show-to-our-church-congregation-who-is-funding-this-and-our-potential-landlord' form, but will be ready for the public in a couple weeks. Better be. About to open!) Our GMs are a couple who have 7 years of coffee shop ownership/management experience. They're the real deal. We're excited! Just pulled first espresso shots today and was pleasantly surprised at the quality (though I over roasted a smidge. Roasting on a Coffee Crafters Artisan V, which has worked really, really well. We very much fall in the micro-roaster category.)

Please keep in mind that you are going to need insurance. Workers comp, liability and some sort of insurance on the space. You also need to keep in mind payroll taxes and sales tax. What type of heat do you have?? Oil or gas, rooftop or split system. As some one in the HVAC&R industry there are many parts in a package rootop heating/cooling system, as well as refrigeration systems. Are you going to have an ice machine for those summertime cold coffee beverages? Ice machines are not cheap and are energy sponges.
