what is the difference between coffee, espresso, latte, etc?

Breve Before, you mentioned "Brevé Any milk based Espresso drink using semi-skimmed milk." So if Breve is with half and half, then what is the former called? (just curious) Thanks, dsal

Breve? I read earlier in this thread that a Breve was partly skimmed milk in a cappuccino. I like a cappuccino made with steamed Half and Half instead of milk, and a coffee shop told me that was called Breve. What is that called? dsal

Microfoam too much to hope for?

Thanks! "Fag," and ElDiablo, thanks for all your suggestions! I was researching frothers on the web, and saw that Wholelattelove has something called a FrothXpress. Then, I happened to go into our local Meier store (grocery/department store kind of like a Wal-mart), and they had this item...

Microfoam too much to hope for?

Foam Thanks for the suggestions! I do have a Bodum frother, which I think is similar to the Aerolatte. It's a little battery-operator hand-held whip. Yeah, it does whip up the milk, and it's ok, but I really would like the foam caused by the steam as opposed to whipped milk. It just tastes...

Christian Coffee house What a great idea, Kelly! If you are looking to add Christian coffee houses to your visit list, you might want to check out Cafe D'Vine in Huntington, Indiana. I have never been there, however my daughter has a friend who goes to Huntington College (Christian college)...

Microfoam too much to hope for?

Hi. I have a cheapo espresso maker. And, (probably) much to your dismay, I really like the microfoam on the coffee drinks at the coffee houses even more than the brew. I like that even on a cup of plain ol' coffee. If my main goal is to have great milk foam that will last until the bottom of...

    Is this rust?!?

 OK, here is the story. I got hooked on the yummy coffee drinks several years ago, and thought, hey, how 'bout buying a cappucino machine? A Krups one was on sale and I bought it. No, it is not pump driven....I just bought it because it said it made espresso, etc. ;) Of course, at...

    My question on frothing techniques

I have a steam (not pump) espresso maker, and have never been able to get good froth from the frothing steamer. I really like the froth that is available from commercial machines, but I do not want to invest that much money. Is there any way I can get coffee-house quality froth at home without...
