High altitude and variable temperature kettles

Thank you for bearing with me. I didn't ask a proper question, did I!?!? lol - I think I confused you with my confused and confusing post. My question was not clear and was expressed more by implication than by a direct statement, as pointed out by both you and Musicphan – sorry about that...

High altitude and variable temperature kettles

I apparently need to find a coffee forum site for newbies, lol, not much help for folks like me here. Holly

High altitude and variable temperature kettles

I purchased a Bonavita Variable Temperature electric kettle so that I could take advantage of its "ability" to heat water at different temps for coffee, tea, cocoa, etc., as well as having a gooseneck kettle for my pour over coffee brewing. There is a great chart in the User's Manual that shows...

What do you drink your coffee IN or FROM? Looking for coffee mug recommendations.

I wasn't able to locate it on Amazon (or elsewhere) but that's a cool looking cup, ensoluna. Holly

Air samples suggest roasting coffee is really bad for your lungs

Thank you for telling us about your experience with "bad air quality," Topher; always good to hear from actual end-users, so to speak! Sounds as if all is well if the facility is set up right. Holly

Air samples suggest roasting coffee is really bad for your lungs

That sounds a bit worrying. Better ventilation and/or respirators may be required, if this is indeed proven to be the case with more studies. :( I wish all of our coffee roasters the very best of health; where would we be without them? Holly

What do you drink your coffee IN or FROM? Looking for coffee mug recommendations.

Apparently no interest in this subject. All the care folks take to make their coffee, but apparently even a paper cup with which to drink it will do. :p Back to my google searches go I. Holly

    News in the coffee world

Sad to hear of his death, but that is a pretty cool urn for his ashes! I just started using my Moka pot again (not a Bialetti, another Italian brand, Vigano) and appreciate the fact that he popularized the Moka pot to the extent that it reached our shores here in the USA. A nifty way of...

What do you drink your coffee IN or FROM? Looking for coffee mug recommendations.

Not sure if this is the proper forum in which to post this, but there isn't a forum devoted to "Accessories" and, though a drinking vessel of some sort is somewhat essential for the enjoyment of the results of the brewing process, I wasn't sure that a mug could be considered coffee "equipment."...

Need help with ID of stove top Italian coffee maker

I cannot help you with this, but photos of the machine might help someone else more knowledgeable to give you some basic instructions. (I thought maybe you were talking about a Moka pot until you mentioned the steam wand and coffee spigot, lol.) Holly

Burr grinder replacement for Solis Maestro? Main use: for pour over coffee

^^Thank you for that info about the Virtuoso, peterjschmidt. Sounds like more machine than I need. I have decided to continue using the Solis until I have perfected my Chemex coffee making with the help of the new tools I have on order - and more research I am sure. By then I will have the...

Burr grinder replacement for Solis Maestro? Main use: for pour over coffee

Customer service is a big plus; thank you for bringing up that point, peterjschmidt. My Solis has never had a problem so I had no cause to contact customer service - which would be an even stronger recommendation for sticking with the same company, wouldn't it?!? And from what you said, the...

Burr grinder replacement for Solis Maestro? Main use: for pour over coffee

I most certainly haven't reached “coffee nirvana,” if there is such a place in the coffee journey, but thank you for your encouragement and your welcome. :) I haven't had any problems with my Solis, but it has primarily been used to prepare coffee for an automatic drip machine, which...

Burr grinder replacement for Solis Maestro? Main use: for pour over coffee

Very new here, as you can see, and I have much to learn. By way of introduction, I have been using an electric automatic drip coffeemaker for quite some time, though occasionally using my French press, Moka pot or Chemex pour over coffeemaker. The plastic on the thermal carafe for the auto...
