You didnt say wheter you are talking drip or espresso. I have a Baratza Solis Maestro Plus for drip, and it is perfect for that. If you want to inlcude espresso in your mix, you may want to consider a Rancilio Rocky or higher (as many have suggested). I am considering selling my Baratza and...
I have a Baratza Solis Maestro Plus coffee grinder, which I use primarily for drip. I have a Technivorm MoccaMaster KBT 741.
I have been happy with the results, but I would like to know if there is any scientific or actual method of figuring out the correct grind size? I guess the same...
I have been pinging on the North America distributor about this item and here are the responses:

I just want to agree with you.
I just purchased a Baratza Solis Maestro Plus a few months ago. I love it. I mostly use it for drip now, but have had an espresso machine in the past, and I know how hard it was to make a decent espresso without a good grinder.
Anyone out there who wants to do...
Grinder
I can recommend the Baratza Solis Maestro Plus ($150) for the grinder. I know others have recommended the Rancilio Rocky ($260). Check out www.coffeegeek.com and look under consumer reviews. Can't say anything about espresso machines, as I am looking for one too.
I have been trying read through all the posts on a decent drip machine for the home.
I would like coffee that tastes like the coffee you get at coffee shops or restaurants. I would like it to go into a caraffe to avoid burning the coffee.
Lastly, the price should be reasonable ($200 or less)...
I think the model is actually Newco OCS-8. Try putting that in a google search for better results.
I found one link to buy here:
