Barcodes

Hi. I read in the past that it costs $10,000-$20,000 to get a barcode for your own line of coffee and tea. But, I see everywhere it costs only$50 for barcodes for other things? Is coffee and tea different or was I informed wrong and it will only cost 50 or less? Thanks
