I got a call from a friend of mine who makes a large amount (100 cups) of coffee for a group every week. He's been using an old-style percolator coffee maker but wants to improve the quality of the coffee. He asked me, but I'm not very familiar with large coffee makers. Can anyone give me recommendations?

I have to say a Bunn ICB DV is quite possibly the easiest thing to make coffee with.

I would recommend Fetco brewers, but you will need a water line. Also a filter system would highly improve the quality.

If its a CBS 52H I'll say yes but the new XTS is a pain in the ass. Why Fetco can't wrap its head around easy programming menu's without having to need an interpreter is beyond me. The beauty behind the Bunn is you don't need a book, simply follow the prompts in a easy to read format.

The velocity is for brewing at home. He's looking for a slightly bigger brewer.

CCafe...we make ice cubes by hand...so we use these brewers for the coffee that we need for that. It's a pain to make 500 to 1000 lbs of coffee cubes a week but its worth it!
