If you go with tile look for a PEI rating of 5. If you are laying the floor yourself take the time on the subfloor. You will want very minimal deflection and very flat surface. Also use a dark grout color 
Another option is wood floor. We went with a utility grade oak floor from Lumber Liquidators. Commercial (Coffee Shop) wood doesn't need to be as smooth has a home. (No socks or barefoot use).
Lastly if you can do concrete it would be the best long term option!
