Hi All,

I've had the Cuisinart DCC-1200CH for almost 4 years. Today, it will not brew. The lights come on like it will start, I hear click, then nothing. The plate never heats up. Any ideas?

Thanks

The plate and the heater for the brewing water are most likely two different things.

If it were mine, I'd be tearing it apart to see if there's a loose wire somewhere.

Actually the plate probably is the heater for the model. A lot of those low end brewers use the burner to double over as the water heater for the unit. I would check to see if there is a thermostat limit installed on it. Grab a multimeter set it for continuity (the setting where it beeps continuously) then touch both sides of the limitstat and see if it beeps. No beeping means the limitstat has failed.

My wife's Mr.Coffee (NOT MINE) died and that's what happened to it. Sadly though a new limitstat was about $12. So I let her buy a new pot for $20. I might suggest you do the same thing.

Ok thanks. I'll try that. Where did you get the new limitstat?
