As I get more into the art of espresso, it's time to step up into a "real" machine. I've spent the last several years using a Jura Z5, which is GREAT for the convenience factor but not for learning the grind-tamp-extract part of the equation as well as milk expansion. I think I've nailed it down to two machines (however, I'm open for other suggestions with reasons why):
1. Expobar Brewtus IV
2. Izzo Alex Duetto II
They both are around the same price, get great reviews and such. Slight nuances such as the Izzo having a smaller group boiler are about the only things I can find. (The aurgument being of why waste the energy of getting 1.7L of water up to temp to extract 3 oz. of expresso.) So, it leaves me at a cross road. Any insights are appreciated!
