For an extra kick I was thinking of making robusta espresso shots and freezing them in ice cube trays and adding them to a regular cup of coffee for extra kick. Does freezing espresso shots just after extraction maintain caffeine content?

why robusta...I mean I get it for the extra caffeine but when the ice melts its going to taste awful.

If you are going to do it, cover the trays with plastic wrap while they freeze, then wrap each cube separately, or vacuum seal them when frozen. You don't want even a hint of freezer burn or frost bite in the taste. A better option would be to get an espresso machine and a french press, brew the espresso and regular coffee fresh as you want them.
