New Lelit pl41TEM - questions... first time owner

Hello,

Just got a new Lelit PL41TEM with PID... On my second shot I got 9-10 bar... I used Illy decaf coffee, with a 57mm tamp..

Not sure how well it worked and or if thats where my shot should be.

I have a video but cant post any links cause im new.

On the single plate, I used the scoop that came with the machine, but my shot was in the 4-5 bar... I then added another scoop (my next try) not full and got the shot to 9-10 bar...

How long should I let the pump run 20 sec?

Sounds more like you have pump issues. With no coffee in the chamber I would hope to see as much as half a bar off of what its set at. If its set for 9 bar I would expect to see no less then 8 - 8.5 bar while running water only. Then again I can't vouch for that machine as I've never used it.

Assuming you were getting 9 bar I would shoot for the 20 - 30 second range but its more important for the taste then the time. So if it tastes great at 18 seconds then shoot for 18. I once had a machine that would make a shot in 45 seconds that almost tasted like chocolate pouring from the spout.
