I've noticed that many shops eliminate the smallest (12 oz) cup size from their menu for cold drinks. What's the reasoning behind this? Is it more cost effective to only offer a medium and large size for iced and blended drinks? I'm currently trying to develop the menu for my new coffee shop.

The margin isnt that great from small to med and you have to carry a different size lid. I would do the same

we don't offer iced drinks in that size, because the ice takes up a lot of room.
a 12 oz of cold liquid goes in a 16 oz cup. 16 oz of cold liquid goes in a 20 oz cup. we do ice a double shot espresso if people ask for it, and that fits with the ice in a 12 oz cup.

we have 12, 16 and 20 oz cups with one dome lid that fits all three sizes.
