Are you using the heavy wall, the 18 gauge or the standard gauge QF duct? I ask because I worked on a layout with my local Nordfab supplier and they spec'ed the standard gauge.

what's the diameter? How many feet? Big price difference between the two gauges.
I purchased some from here: Nordfab Parts Flanged Pipe
and McmasterCarr.com. I went stainless just because and 5" diameter for my sample roaster

I need 8" and approx 30' total so price difference will be pretty large. Thanks for the link, it at least lets me compare pricing. Seems like the place that worked my quote is pretty much inline price wise with that website.

You can get away with a thinner wall. Depending on your location and weather, a thicker wall could work better financially,
With all the snow we had here, my pipe system was the only one not damaged with the wind and heavy snow. The other business had to replace their pipe because the snow and wind bent them over. But I always go for the over kill

I'm an old scoop manufacturing engineer. I always say, "when in doubt, make it stout!" Sounds like that paid off for you Charlie. Money or the lack thereof will always trump the options.
