Roaster is 'thumping'

My Deidrich IR-12 circa 2000 is making a thumping sound after several batches have been roasted and as we put in bigger batches. I tightened the drive chain and this did not help. I have not seen the shaft spin inside the collar at all but today the drum stopped spinning and the batch burnt. Has anybody experienced this and have a solution? Thanks in advance.

Wait..your drum isn’t spinning" it was making a thumping sound first? Sounds like ÿour drum needs adjusted. Have you contacted Dietrich? Open your drum door. Is there a gap between drum and lip? Did you check your bearings?

One more thing, just in case you haven't already done so, be sure that your roaster is level.
