So I was thinking about stencils for lattes-- I am practicing my latte art but its still a work in progress... anyhow-- I think that yes they are cheating but they are kind of cute and I made one with our logo to add to our little stencil collection. We haven't started using them with every latte yet because my co-owner mentioned "what if someone doesn't like cinnamon or cocoa on their latte foam?" (I know how could you not-- but I suppose there are some folks out there that don't-- its possible I suppose.. ;-)...
Anyway for those who own shops--- any opinions about the stencils (besides it being cheating/tacky)-- do you think it helps add extra uniqueness to your offerings ie against the big chains? Do you customers like the added touch of creativity??
In our location-- we have a D&D, McDonalds and gas station coffee as our competitors for a 40 mile radius; we are it for real coffee and we use a local roaster who roasts organic/fair trade!!)
