Sticky Thread

Well, I don't have any technical issues so far but I have one query.
What is a sticky thread? I see the first couple of threads in different topics such as Introductions, which are labelled as "Sticky". But I have no idea about what exactly is a sticky thread. Can someone please explain?

Sorry....I meant to answer your question when you first asked it, but I never got around to it.

A sticky Thread is a Thread/Reply that will stay at the top of the thread and will not move, even if a new post is posted. This is so it does not get lost. A thread gets "stuck" because it contains very useful information that's needed for future reference. Moderators and Admininstrators usually determine if a thread should become a "sticky thread."
