Hello,
My "new cory rod" glass filter just broke into a dozen pieces the other day and I'm back to using my flimsy (and repaired one too many times) Bodum, plastic disc filter with coiled wire.
Before buying a filter, I thought I would ask if anyone has ever considered using a large, tea pot style, mesh tea ball (around 3 inch diameter) to hold the coffee in the funnel instead of using a filter?
Compared to glass rods, large tea balls are cheap and readily available. If anyone has a large tea ball and is willing to give it a try and share the results, I would appreciate it. If it works well, I believe it would be a preferable alternative to a bidding war over a 45-year-old lump of glass.
Thanks.
