My 12K roaster is not loud enough to worry about it... and I'm a freak about my ear protection (avid music/concert fan). My experience is mainly limited to musician plus but I've tried most brands on the market... I'm a HUGE fan of Etymotic Research earplugs.. they range from inexpensive to pricy for custom models. I recommend starting off with some inexpensive safety plugs like:

I do not have a loader anymore so I really do not need ear protection. I used to use the "earmuff" style ear protection..I could still hear but wouldn't damage my hearing. I wasn't a fan of the ear plugs. I would hate for that to fall out and end up in the coffee. You do not want noise canceling..you still need to hear if any issues arise.

Two years ago, I started having hearing problems. I used to listen to loud music on my headphones, I liked so much trance festivals. Every summer I was at almost every place I could listen to Armin van Buuren. Moreover, I started working in the production room where my sister worked. Now, I quit my job because I end up wearing hearing aids from https://www.shieldhearing.com I would say they are the best on the market because the cheapest price I could find here.

I worked as a blog writer at https://essayhelp.com/

If you are roasting or in a production facility all day, wear hearing protection. Foam ear plugs or ear muffs will work, but if you work in an environment that constantly requires hearing protection,
I would highly suggest investing in custom (musician's) plugs.
