New to the industry (Coffee Type, Roast, and Origin)

Hello all!

I would like to thank you all in advance for welcoming me to the board and assisting me in the future.

As per my introduction I am an accountant and manage my own firm of 12. I have been presented with an opportunity to be the exclusive distributor for a family/farm/brand of coffee from Guatemala. In terms of the legalities I am pretty much set, but in reference to the actual industry I am not very knowledgeable. I have a degree in economics as well so forecasting and margins are something that I understand very well.

My main purpose to posting today is to learn about the different types of coffee (I am aware there are many, but almost the entire market is filled with arabica and robusta) and the different roasts. I believe a breakdown would definitely assist in the learning process.

I will follow up by asking how altitude effects the coffee bean as well as its country of origin.
