12 volt coffee pot

Does anyone here have any experience with 12 volt coffee makers? Are they actually usable?

Yes they are usable. You have to remember that even though the voltage is a lot less they still make heat with resistance and that will never change. With a little steel wool and a 1.5v battery you can start a fire. So just because it's 12 volts doesn't meant it won't make coffee. Heck they have ovens that run on 12 volts.

If anyone knows about some model that makes decent coffee in some reasonable time-frame I would love to know.
