I am a new manager of a small college campus coffee shop. We are trying to purchase a semi-auto espresso machine on a small budget. Has anyone used/heard of the brand Astoria? Any suggestions on what brands to look at? Are the websites which review espresso machines?
Thanks for your assistance.

Hey Lady Poverty:

What kind of volume do you anticipate? In my opinion the Astoria is not a bad machine if you are planning on doing small amounts of coffee, whereas, there are other machines a little more, but better suited to handle larger volumes. Some machines I might recommend would include WEGA, La Marzocco, and La San Marco. I would caution you though, do not base your decision on price alone. That could be a mistake. Find out what your needs are going to be, then base your pricing according to the features that each machine offers. 8)

CMA private labels both the Wega and the Astoria. The guts in both machines are practically the same. How is it the Wega is better then the Astoria?
