Any recomended tips for preventative maintenance for espresso machine

I was hoping that anyone could give me some tips for preventative maintenance for a Formula EVD-2 espresso machine. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Is Formula EVD-2 the whole name of the model espresso machine that you have, or is there more to it? (such as Altair, or Wega, or something else)

I'm guessing that you don't have a user manual for the machine. How old is it?

We have several members of this Coffee Forum who have experience with maintenance and repairs for espresso machines. Hopefully someone will be able to give you some suggestions soon.

Number 1 thing I learned this year is regardless of the brand is to change the grouphead gasket at least once a year. It was like buying a new machine! If you wait too long the rubber gets hard and at worst has to be dug out of the grouphead. While I'm at it I also replace the shower screens too.

Many people say that a proper cleaning regimen is the best thing you can do to keep a machine running well. Just type "espresso" machine cleaning into google and the first two links will get you started!
