Average Wage for Part Time at Starbuck or Other Coffee shop

We plan to open local Roaster in Orange County in California.
When it''s open, we definitely part time help.

Would you tell us what will be the average wage?

We know it is depends on the location, but we just want to know the general information. Thank you.

When I worked part time for sbux I got 8/hr to start. Pay got raised quickly with good performance though.

An sbux barista is the cashier, barista, janitor, everything. There aren't seperate positions.

Is the wage at Coffee Bean similar to sbux?

I get $13/hour during weekdays and $20/hour during weekends. However, the waging system seems to be different here in Iceland then in the US, because no one would settle for $8 an hour!

When I started out in the coffee business I was 17 and got paid $9/hour during weekdays and $11/hour on weekends.

Heidi, it's about the same here in Massachusetts, $8-$9 to start. It's not unusual for the more experienced employees to receive $13 per hour.

Some employers offer 1.5 times your base rate for working on Sunday.
No incentives for working on Saturday though.

My wages when I was starting out were almost the lowest legal wage people can offer. I know that some get more the $20 during daytime hours, but that's because they are older (age has a lot to do when it comes to calcutaing wages).
