Purchased my BES880 7/4/19 but last year noticed the steam wand was blocking up every 3 weeks or so with milk, but now almost every day (2 cups) & I have to unscrew, use pinprick tool provided, rinse, replace the parts & then go through the clean cycle - always in the middle of frothing/steaming!
We use for two cups once each day with fresh fullcream milk & have always adhered to all the filter & machine cleansing regimens as required using the special tablets/filters etc.
Does anybody experience this problem &, if so, what could be the cause/remedy?

Not a fan of simply carting the machine off to a 'repair man' to be obliged to first pay a 'looking' fee, have the 'workshop look at it' over some 2-3 weeks & then be told it needs 'fixing' at a cost of $$$$ (too much like an open cheque & frankly dont want to be without my machine for more than a couple of days).

Ideas anyone?
Many thanks.

I will gladly say Breville makes disposable junk. Sure they offer lots of bells/whistles for the price point, but at the expense of long term reliability. Not sure what type of clean cycle you're referring to, but any machine I've had to use for milk texturing all that was needed was wiping the wand/tip off after every use and purging as well. As in submerging the tip in a mug of water, run steam through 10-15 seconds, swipe the tip and done. That will ensure no milk gets vacuumed up into the tip/wand and no remnants to calcify.

Many thanks shadow745, I will enhance my normal steam wand purging (automatic with my model) and use your suggestion of submersing wand in a mug of water.
At this stage I have had to deliver to a 'repair man' & currently awaiting their return/remedy/explanation & cost -- I will detail this info' in this thread when to hand.
Cheers.
