I know opinions can vary but I would love some feed back on members experiences with Diedrich or US Roaster machines. I am looking at similar machines, around 10 lbs per batch. Diedrich touts the infrared burners and you pay dearly compared to the US Roaster. Trying to decide. Any thoughts are welcome! Also any knowledge of used machines for sale would be appreciated.
Thank You,
John

Short answer: you can't go wrong with either. Both are well received and supported and both are solid companies. With the diedrich if you get behind on the roast you probably won't catch up. On the other hand I have roasted with both an open flame and the infrared and I (very slightly) prefer the infrared as it's a nice even heat.

Thank you for the input! I am trying to weigh out cost vs benefit. Diedrich also claims half the gas consumption. When you state "if you get behind the roast you probably wont catch up". Is this because of better heat control with an actual flame roaster?
