Anyone here tried coffee from the Domincan Republic? What do you think of it?

I like it (going through some Santo Domingo Ocoa) but Cuban is way better.

I've tried some good Cuban. I'm hopeing that Dominican coffee is comparable but I've heard it is a bit bland.

The nose/aroma of the Dominican was chocolatey but as you suggest, it was a bit bland. I mixed some African to it in order to enhance the taste.

It tastes nothing like cuban...of which I have had good Cuban and bad Cuban. It is a much more pungent coffee.

I understand coffees from El Salvador are closest but I have not tried any.

....oops! Should read Ecuador rather than El Salvador.

This may be a repeat post but the original still has not appeared from quite some time ago.

I meant to say Ecuador and not El Salvador.

I have tried coffee from El Salvadore from El milagro and it is very good but I have never had Cuban so I can't compare.

I still have some extra Turquino green beans and am currently drinking the last of my Serrano beans.......as mentioned, they are more pungent. Very nice, mild cup.
