Hello,

I purchased an espresso machine from a local fleamarket. The name of the machine is AMA MILANO. It's quite old - 1970s-1980s. Anybody knows if this is a steam-driven machine, or pump-driven? How do you make the difference, in terms of appearance? Is it any good at all? I don't have the filter, so I haven't tried it yet.

Any comments will be appreciated.

Thank you.

Hello,

I purchased a similar one from ebay some weeks ago. As you may have noticed in the meantime, there is no pump working inside , thus it is purely steam driven. The result you get is not actually "espresso", because the lack of pressure, but I think the taste is quite good - and the machine is very fast...
Remember to run the machine one time without coffee in for a proper temperature before preparing the coffee.
