Help Please: Problem with Jura Impressa E8 drain valve

Hi all,

Any Jura experts out there. I just finished rebuilding the brew group and reassembling the machine.

I noticed something odd. The drain valve male port does not seem to be connected to anything, but has an o-ring.

Is this normal? The only hoses I recall disconnecting to remove the brew group is the the drain valve female port (clear hose held in with a clip).

You can see it on the machine if you pull the grounds tray, and look inside. Its right below the plunger.
