Hi guys,
so I have a la marzocco gb5, it's from South Africa and it's a 380v 3 phase, we have already converted the place with a transformer to accommodate the 380v 3 phase. We just installed the machine but for some reason the wTer pump won't turn on and only the on/off button of the la marzocco flashes, none of the other lights turn on. The pump is 220v . Can anyone help me figure out what the problem could be? Is anyone familiar with 380v 3 phase, I understand that it itsnt common in the USA so spare me the stupidity, but I'm stuck with this machine so I need to just figure out what is wrong and why it won't work. It gets power. Could my wiring be wrong with the plug? Does the water pump need a capacitor? Any feed back would be great.

Sounds like something is wired incorrectly?
Are you sure it is actually a three phase machine - I have seen several single phase machines with four or five core cables fitted?
At the very least, get someone to check it out - email your importer and ask for a wiring diagram.
I don't think it's a difficult job to convert one to single phase anyway. I did convert one a while ago but it was quite a while...

Contact your local electrician. I think this is the most correct solution to your problem ... It will save you a huge amount of time and money. When I had a similar problem, I thought I could fix it myself. In the end, I spent more than two weeks to correctly diagnose the problem, as well as fix it. It turned out that the capacitors had to be replaced there. It was very difficult to find High voltage doorknob capacitors, but I did it ... I think that if I went to a specialist right away, this problem would be solved in a few days.
