I have a tumbling composter, but I'm not going to be using it in the colder months.

So for now, I've just been scooping out the grounds with my hand and throwing them in the trash... then washing the little remnants down the drain.

But I'm wondering how many of you will dump all the grounds down the sink. . . . .

Even a coarser, french press type ground??? :decaf:

I put drain screen and catch all of them. Of course I put them in the trash.... I always drink my coffee with French press so that is what I do always...

I throw mine in the garden. It's good for the plants. A few years ago I saw this cool invention. It was a silicon piece that sat at the bottom of a press. It had magnets on the top lip. When you pushed your plunger down it locked in the spent grounds. You then pull the plunger up and the "cup" comes with it. You then go to the bin and turn it inside out...grounds come out easily. This was a prototype that I saw at a convention...anyone know if he made a go of it?

one thing to remember...once you brew your coffee transfer it to a carafe. You do not want to over extract your coffee.

normal brew time for french press is around 3-4 mins tops... I dont even leave that long ... about 2 mins max for me.....
