Hi,

Was hoping to get some input from those of you who have live music in your coffeehouse. Do you think that a 20 X 30 sf room is large enough? I am putting together plans for a 2400sf coffeehouse that would include a 400sf patio and 600sf room that would be opened up to main part of coffeehouse when not in use for other functions such as live music.

Any advice on things like acoustics or sound system??

Thanks a bunch,
Ellie

how about a liquer licence? if you had one I'd choose amplified BLUES.

Amplified blues...good choice. Liquor license maybe in the future, we'll see. I have to settle on a location first

Thanks,
Ellie

honest Jazz makes me want to sleep or run out the door. Notice Jazz isn't used much if at all in commercials. I guess the market survey says Blues is more pallitable than Jazz.

I'm a Blues lover, and respect all artists esp if they play music. Also, as long as you get enjoyment oout of your music, that's cool, but if you choose eanything too personal in your shop; you run the risk of being narrow focused. You have to look at how one thing might affect your customers, and what the expected results will be. And then think about that one thing and how it is percieved in the market.

Check out sound equipment guys for what you would need for a mixer, amps, speakers, etc. Coffee houses are notorious for bad acoustics, but a trained specialist could be a great help. We've done a lot of stuff with our small portable system.
